Winter Family Festival Dates
It's worth braving the cold for these winter activities.
While it's tempting to stay indoors, there's just too much going on. Sydney and surrounds have some amazing festivals on the way, and
Sydney Mums Group has compiled a list of THE most family-friendly events this winter.
Rug up in your winter woollies and get amongst it. No one does a southern hemisphere winter fest like Sydney!

Skating At Cathedral Square .
Dates: Friday 29th June - Sunday 22nd of July, 2018
Where: Cathedral Square, CBD.
Skate in the shadow of St Mary's Cathedral with the kids on the open air ice rink, or ride the snow tubes, Powder Peak the inflatable slide or jump on the Ice Castle inflatable. There's also plenty of food stalls and it's open day and night.

Winterlight - Parramatta
Dates: Friday 6th - Sunday 22nd of July, 2018
Where: Prince Alfred Square, Parramatta
What better place than the geographical centre of Sydney, to play host to this winter carnival, with another open-air ice rink, and also a kids only rink for the little ones. Like something out of a European Christmas, there'll be an Alpine Village hosting warm food fare, as well as other rides (including tobogganing!), live music and FREE activities.

Winterfest at Luna Park
Dates: Friday 6th - Monday 23rd of July, 2018
Where: Luna Park, Milsons Point.
When you visit Luna Park for Winterfest this holidays, you get ice skating included in the unlimited rides pass, and there is a novelty snowfall over the rink to give the feel of a Northern Hemisphere winter! If you visit in the evening you'll also be able to see the Phantasos light show on the Ferris Wheel. You can attend for free just to enjoy the atmosphere if you don't want to ride or skate.

Snow Time in the Garden - Hunter Valley
Dates: Saturday 30th of June - Sunday 22nd of July, 2018
Where: Hunter Valley Gardens, Pokolbin
No one does seasonal festivities like the
Hunter Valley Gardens and now its winter, it's
Snow Time! The emphasis here is on ACTIVITIES and RIDES. There'll be ice-skating, ice-tobogganing and a
9D snow adventure, like none you've ever experienced in this sunburnt country. And if you'd love to build your own snowman, this is the place to be, with a
Snow Play Zone!

Winter Magic - Bondi
Dates: Saturday 29th June - Sunday 29th of July, 2018
Where: Various locations, Bondi
For those in the Eastern suburbs, Bondi is the best place to be this winter. There's the new
Bondi Vista ferris wheel, offering 360 degree views of the Beach from a 22 metre height! There'll also be an ice-rink, history walks, art trails, yoga, music, feasting, books and the City2Surf. Talk about an action-packed events calendar to entice you back to the beach!

Winterland
Dates: Saturday 7th July - Sunday 29th of July, 2018
Where: St Leonards Park at North Sydney and Koshigaya Park in Campbelltown.
Not only does Winterland have skating and rides but they also have a Stars on Ice show featuring professional skaters. There's also a magical ice forest to explore, and a light show transforms the ice rink into a display of colour every night.

Rouse Hill Winter Fair
Dates: Saturday 7th July - Sunday 29th of July, 2018
Where: Rouse Hill Town Centre.
For extra fun, kids can play games such as the limbo and ice soccer and baksetball when skating at the Winter Fair ice rink. There will also be special themed dress up nights such as the Pajama Party on the 9th July, the Mexican Fiesta on the 13th July and the Princess and Superhero parties on the 16th and 20th July. People who come in costume can win prizes, too!

Fun4Kids Winter Wonderland
Dates: Friday 13th July, 2018
Where: Merrylands Central Gardens.
This carnival is free for everyone,with no fee required for the ice rink,
Frozen themed jumping castle, inflatable snow globe or giant jungle maze (but bookings are required). Kids can do winter craft, see farm animals and see ice carving. Finally, there will be screenings of
Frozen and
Ice Age during the day.

Yulefest - The Blue Mountains
Dates: Festival packages available June - Aug, 2018
Where: Various attractions and hospitality locations in the Blue Mountains
Why: Celebrate Christmas in June, July AND August
If you want that true winter experience, without going all the way to the snowfields, there's no better place than the
Blue Mountains. Venues full of old-world charm, will be offering the full
Christmas in July experience, with food and accommodation deals. There'll be log fires, Yule fare, singalongs, and perhaps even Santa, or maybe even snow!
