A festival for children, young people, and their families in Liverpool and beyond.

Everyone’s favourite family festival is back! Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre's annual Way Out West (WOW) Festival returns bigger and better than ever with a jam-packed 3-day program of live music, theatre, hands-on creativity and play!

Expect immersive and engaging family fun with a wide range of arts, cultural events and activities suitable for children, young people, and families of all ages and all abilities.

The exciting 2023 festival program, curated and produced by Susie Rugg, includes FREE all-day drop-in events, ticketed workshops and performances, interactive art, exhibitions, outdoor play, and music events with a strong focus on sustainability, community and play. Best of all, the paid program is affordable for families with lots of events at just $5 while nothing in the entire program is over $20!

2023 Highlights include:

Exciting Collaboration with Major Minor Music Australia to present headline musical acts Peter Combe, Josh Pyke, Tip Toe Giants + Angie Who!

Youth Legacy All-Ages Talent Quest + Street University experience spectacular presented in collaboration with The Street University Liverpool.

Youth Makers Market featuring 50 young makers, shakers and entrepreneurs under the age of 18! Meet and chat with the makers and take home an original artwork, delicious treat or crafty creation!

3-day installation and performance by Melbourne arts org Bukjeh and Powerhouse Youth Theatre.

Turn yourself into a cardboard bird with cardboard heroes BOXWARS, then join Curiosity Works to take flight with the magic of green screen.

Making it Australia winner and head tradie George Buchanan presents the Big Build. Kids get hammers and nails and free range to build the adventure playground of their dreams!

Audioplay and Windmill Theatre Company present Sun Runners, a participatory performance with headphones where kids take a lap around the sun in the world's greatest-ever space race!

Silent disco with a kid-controlled DJ Booth.

Huge paper plane folding zone and obstacle course.

Magic and levitation workshop with renowned magician Adam Mada.

March of the Birds - Parade along Casula Parklands riverwalk with the team from Circus Solaris.
