A 5 star playground in a lovely parkland setting on the Upper North Shore of Sydney!
Wahroonga Park has one of the nicest playgrounds on the North Shore of Sydney. This brightly coloured playground has equipment that is suitable for most ages and abilities, and as it is fully fenced it is very popular with parents of younger children.
The favourite apparatus for little people is the train as they can pretend to be a train driver for the morning. There are also several small pieces of equipment for them to step up onto and slide down and there are sensory boards for them to explore as well. Older kids who are more adept at climbing, will love the ship like contraptions that they can climb up and over, and then slide or jump down from. And the whole playground is covered in that spongy soft fall flooring, so hopefully injuries from falls should be minimal.
There are toddler swings within the playground and extra swings are just outside the fenced area which include swings for bigger kids and an accessible swing for those children with mobility issues.
Every thrill seeking child's favourite - the flying fox, is the only drawback in this playground. It's made for giants. So unless your kids are 6ft tall, there's probably no way they can ride this successfully.
When you tire of the playground you can go and explore the rest of the park. There is a pretty rotunda and well manicured gardens, which make this a favourite spot for special events like birthday parties. You will find a toilet block as well as lots of places to throw down a picnic rug for an alfresco lunch. There aren't any BBQs so make sure you bring along your own portable one if you are thinking of having a sausage sizzle for lunch.
If you can't survive the playground/park without a caffeine fix, than you are in luck as the excellent Cafe Patina is straight across the road. Whether you choose to eat in or take-away, you won't be disappointed with the quality of their coffee, food and service.
The Sydney Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Sydney mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
