Tommee Tippee Urges You to 'Tip In' this World Prematurity Day to Help Support Miracle Babies and their Families

Open your wallets and 'tip in' for a good cause.

One in 10 Australian babies are born prematurely. Tragically, complications due to premature birth costs the lives of up to 1,000 newborns every year, making this the leading cause of infant death around the country.

With these stats in mind, it is likely you or someone you know has been affected by premature birth. In the lead up to World Prematurity Day on Sunday 17th November, you can help families of premature babies simply by opening your wallet to ‘tip in’ a small donation.

Tommee Tippee and the Miracle Babies Foundation are encouraging people to make a donation through the Tommee Tippee’s 'Tip In' campaign and support families of premature and sick newborns.

The fundraising efforts will run until the 17th of November, and anyone can lend their support and donate any time via the Tommee Tippee Raisley website.

Through the campaign, Tommee Tippee is on a mission to raise $20,000 to support the Miracle Babies Foundation and help more little ones and their families.

Miracle Babies Foundation was formed by a group of mothers of premature and sick newborns in 2005, who all bonded together by their NICU experiences.

The foundation has been passionate in developing and providing vital programs and resources to support and enhance a family’s experience from a threatened pregnancy, hospital journey with a premature or sick newborn, the transition to home and beyond.

Miracle Babies provides informative education, funding for equipment, resources and research along with family support through the highly successful NurtureProgram™, a valuable service to assist families throughout their journey.

With a donation of only $67, Miracle Babies Foundation can fully support one family for an entire year. This support includes access to the Nurture Program.

Donations help Miracle Babies Foundation provide vital assistance to families in difficult situations and offers them the support and resources to keep on fighting.

Vanessa Gonzalez, Marketing Manager at Tommee Tippee said: "We would like to encourage everybody to tip in this World Prematurity Day and support the Miracle Babies Foundation to help make a difference in the lives of newborns and their families.”

Kylie Pussell, CEO and Co-Founder of the Miracle Babies Foundation said: "For families, the experience of having a baby come into the world not as expected or planned is life changing. Parents of extreme pre-term babies are two and a half times more likely to be diagnosed with Post Natal Depression. Miracle Babies parent support programs and resources and connection with other families to reduce isolation is vital for their ongoing mental health and parenting skills and confidence.

We are so thankful for the amazing and continued support from Tommee Tippee and their community in helping these vulnerable families. The partnership will certainly go a long way in helping us reach and support more families across Australia during this traumatic and emotional time. Your support to the Tip In campaign can be life changing for many Australian families and the outcomes for their babies. Thank you!"
