The Animation Spark: Online Animation Workshops

Would your child like to try a new hobby, learn new skills or make their very own animation?

Welcome to The Animation Spark , a Sydney small business dedicated to teaching the art of animation to children.

Founded by professional animator, educator and mother Maria, The Animation Spark offers animation workshops for primary school kids aged 6-12 years. The next workshop will take place for 8-weeks after school in term 3.

Maria brings over 25 years experience in animation to her workshops, including work on many big animated films and 7 years teaching. She also teaches at UTS’ animation program, where each of her teaching staff has graduated from too.



Following successful pre-COVID face-to-face workshops, The Animation Spark is now back after an almost 2-year hiatus, with an online version of their after school animation workshops.

The online program was created based on Maria’s knowledge as an animator and her experience working with children. Children will start with claymation, then move to cut-out animation and finish with objects. 

Not only is this workshop an opportunity to learn the basics of animation, but children could also develop a brand-new hobby to keep them engaged and creating long after their workshops finish.
