Sydney's Best Indoor Pools

Indoor pools are a must-have in Sydney on rainy but still humid days. They're also great on super hot days when you can't be out in the sun for more than a few minutes without getting sun burnt. We've chosen pools that have the best facilities for kids for days when the weather isn't behaving properly.

CITY & INNER WEST

Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre - Marrickville

Do you want to learn how to knit? Or have recently started and would like to meet some new friends to share your creativity with, all while having a good chat? Sydney Knitting Club has classes starting in January 2019.

Overview: There's a kids splash pool, water fountains and water spouts in this decent sized indoor pool. The cafe on site is pretty good and there is an awesome playground close by.

Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre - Ultimo

Overview: With a spa, water fountain and bubble jets, this modern pool is a favourite with inner city locals.

Hornsby Aquatic & Leisure Centre - Hornsby

Overview: There's a 2m high enclosed slide as well as a water play area here for kids. You can jump in or sit on the side, and enjoy a coffee with the kids in full view.

Overview: This indoor leisure pool has heaps of space, for heaps of kids. There are water sprays and spouts to keep kids wet all day long.

Ku-ring-gai Gitness & Leisure Centre - West Pymble

Overview: With an indoor wading pool and water spouts, your little people can be enertained all year round here. And the cafe looks over this area, which is a bonus.There's also a big outdoor olympic pool as well.

NORTH WEST

Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre - Ryde

Overview: There's a 40m wave pool and a 56m giant slide, as well as surf ryder in this excellent aquatic centre, so your older kids will be in for a great time. Little ones will love the kids wading pool and bubble whirl pools.

Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre - Homebush

Overview: This is probably Sydney's biggest and best indoor pool for kids to have fun in all year long. The Splashers Water Playground has cool slides that land in the pool, water spouts as well as heaps of gigantic water buckets. There's also a rapid river ride that will have kids going around and around, and when your children are nice and dry, they can also have a go in the Tea Cup and Saucer ride as well.

Emerton Leisure Centre - Emerton

Overview: There's a leisure pool with a beach like entry, bubble jets, spray bollards and a 10m waterslide - basically the perfect place to keep cool on a hot Western Sydney day.

Overview: This is a very cute aquatic centre, as it it has a car in the pool, turbo pool, big waterslide, beach area and lots of brightly coloured buckets to get your kids wet.

Overview: With quite a few mushroom showers and flower spouts, the kids water play area is a great spot to sit and get wet all day long.

Most of the above venues host birthday parties as well as school holiday activities, so make sure you check out their websites for more information. Before visiting an outdoor pool in autumn/winter, check with each location if they are open as well.
