Pregnant at almost 44

Hi all... Went to the Dr this week thinking I had started perimenopause... um ... No. Turns out I'm pregnant. And almost 44. My husband is 48.

We were always told we could never have children... Until we fell pregnant and are blessed with an amazing 11 year old son. Been trying for so long and eventually gave up thinking we could be lucky enough to have another. Until now. Needless to say we are in shock. Had a dating scan done today... 8 weeks and 6 days. Obviously I haven't been paying attention. Next step is obviously a harmony screening test for chromosomal abnormalities.

But I guess my question is... Am I crazy for having hope that everything with be fine? Any older mums out there with some wisdom??
