Let your pre-loved toys be re-loved

BIG W's Toys for Joy

Learn more about BIG W's pre-loved toy donation and recycling initiative, Toys for Joy, in partnership with Save the Children and TerraCycle!

Until 5 May, BIG W is trialing a new program calling on Aussie families from around Australia to donate pre-loved toys in good condition at the purpose-built Toys for Joy bins located at the front of each of the below stores:

BIG W Rouse Hill - 10-14 Market Lane, Rouse Hill
BIG W Winston Hills - 180-190 Caroline Chisolm Drive, Winston Hills
BIG W Erina - Terrigal Drive and Karalta Road, Erina
BIG W Warringah Mall - Corner of Pittwater Road and Condamine Road, Brookvale

Toys donated will go on a new adventure, making their way to Save the Children op shops to help ensure every child gets a healthy start in life, education, and the chance at a better future

Toys that have reached the end of their life will be recycled by TerraCycle and given a new purpose as products such as garden beds, decks, fences, and benches.

How does Toys for Joy work?
Place your pre-loved toy in the colelction bin
Your toy will then be packed up safely
The toys will be sent to Save the Children
Save the Children will sort and look after the toys
Funds raised will go to help children in need
Toys that can't be rehomed get recycled into something wonderful

Before donating, please make sure your toy:
Isn't broken
Is clean and has all it's parts
Still works the way it's meant to
Any batteriers have been removed

Teresa Rendo, Managing Director of BIG W says: “Our partnership with Save the Children and TerraCycle supports our commitment to leading change and making a real difference for Aussie families. We know that as families grow, children grow out of their toys and with few options to recycle them, they end up in landfill. Toys for Joy means parents/carers and kids can drop off their pre loved toys knowing they will be caring for the others and the environment."
