With families currently spending just about all of their time at home, finding toys that help keep the kids entertained and learning is a challenge. LaQ Construction Toys are a creative, open-ended outlet that families will love!

Designed in Japan, LaQ - pronounced as La Kyuu - is a unique construction and educational toy consisting of just 7 different types of block parts from which you can build virtually anything. Each simple piece ‘Snaps’ and ‘Clicks’ into place when connected to another, making it fun and highly tactile.

Children start with simple designs...

There are 3 stages of building, in which younger children start with simple shapes, before progressing to creating 3D models and then mastering their skills - all done at their own pace. The largest LaQ sets have complex 3D models that challenge teenagers and adults alike.

Some of the key benefits of LaQ include:

Fine Motor Skills Development
Improved Spatial Ability
Improved Concentration and Perseverance
Develops Logical Thinking and Problem Solving
To create virtually anything they can imagine and play with it
Hours and hours of screen-free time

...And progress to more complex designs!

Developed in Japan 25 years ago, LaQ was developed by by Mr Hiroshi Kichijo, who wanted to create something completely unlike anyone has seen before, while also useful and entertaining.

The unique LaQ concept was designed from 4 very different facets:

Traditional Japanese architecture, which is based on connecting pillars and sliding doors at angles
A culture of recycling, in which materials can be re-used over and over and designed for different needs
A pair of rolling dice, representing the various shapes LaQ can make
And lastly - a bowl of Udon Noodles, which are flat and flexible, which is why LaQ blocks are flat, more flexible and easier to handle than ‘brick type’ blocks.
