The role of a Paediatric Occupational Therapist is to help improve children's engagement and participation in daily life roles in a school and/or home setting.
The service starts with initial assessments to identify problem areas and gain an understanding of your child’s concerns.
They will then organise ongoing, individual therapy sessions with your child. These sessions focus on building skills your child may have trouble with, such as hand-eye coordination, sequencing, dexterity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-care tasks using a range of fun, play and evidence-based activities.
They also work with children with Autism and sensory processing disorders by applying Occupational Therapy interventions to remove or modify barriers to learning. i-Fit Group Therapists help children become calmer and more focused during activities of daily living including dressing, showering, feeding, home and schoolwork.
Along with Occupational Therapy, i-Fit Group offers Speech Pathology services for people across the lifespan, including infants, young children, adolescents, adults and the elderly to assess and treat communication and swallowing disorders.
