Linnwood is a stunning heritage-listed property set on 5 hectares of ground at Guildford in the Western Suburbs of Sydney.

The house was built in 1891 by George McCredie, a prominent businessman of the day, Mayor of Prospect & Sherwood, and Independent member for the State seat of Central Cumberland, an independent free trader and an advocate of female suffrage.

The Friends of Linnwood are once again participating in the National Trust's Australian Heritage Festival and invite you to explore this hidden gem in Sydney's south west on Sunday 27th April.

Linnwood will be open from 10am - 2pm. Plenty of free 'off street' parking at the rear of the house.

The Friends of Linnwood have unearthed items from the Collection especially for the Australian Heritage Festival event.

Look forward to:

  • Bricks, tiles and other historic clay products from local manufacturers in Holroyd Council and Prospect & Sherwood Council areas.
  • Vintage tools from bygone days.
  • Decorative items with designs featuring flora and fauna.

  • Also on display:
  • 'The Guildford Road Project' featuring photographs from the early days of Guildford and how the area has changed.
  • History and scale model of the former Goodyear factory at Granville.
  • Powerpoint presentation 'The History of Linnwood' together with photographs telling its story.

  • And introducing "The Gardens of Linnwood" publication by the Friends of Linnwood and Holroyd Local History Research.
