Following a smash hit debut run at the Seymour Centre with the Sydney Fringe in 2023, Christ Almighty: A Comedy of Biblical Proportions is being resurrected for a strictly limited run this June! Tickets are now on sale!

Taking over Flight Path Theatre from 5th to 21st June, Christ Almighty is an exciting Australian musical that is sure to brighten up your working week. Think Kath & Kim meets Book of Mormon - an inclusive Aussie take on the Jesus story, focusing on the best bits of the good book and lampooning the rest!

Meet Jesus - a biblical millennial frittering away his thirties on his parents’ couch. It isn’t until God turns up and dishes out his destiny that he decides to pull his finger out.

With some fresh superpowers, Jesus heads for Jerusalem and teams up with twelve pseudo-revolutionary students and a sex worker with a heart of gold. Together, they face off against scheming priests and ruthless Romans to save the people from what they never knew they had to fear… their sins.

It’s gonna take more than a miracle!



Director Miriam Rihani (Lane Cove Theatre Company, Willoughby Theatre Company) cites musicals Spamalot and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum as big influences as Christ Almighty features dozens of characters, nine original catchy songs, a children’s pop-up bible-style set, plus boss fights, stonings and two resurrections!

Playwright Tommy James Green notes "[Christ Almighty] .... is a sword-and-sandals superhero story that hugs the structure of a good Hollywood film, offering everything by way of gags, fights and song-and-dance numbers without skimping on pathos."



Critics from Eastside FM said it was "a brilliant performance" and "had the audience in stitches."

Fourth Wall Reviews gave it "★★★★" and called it "Very very funny."
