Super Furry Easter Party
Where: Shannon Reserve Park, Surry Hills
When: Saturday 24th of March
Why?: The cuddliest Easter event of them all, and you and your fur baby are invited. There'll be a Kitty Cuddle Tent, Bunny Snuggle Tent, photo booth and an egg hunt for you and your pooch. Tickets are FREE.
Where: Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush
When: Friday 23rd of March - Tuesday 3rd of April, 2018
Why?: Still the biggest and the best show in town with seemingly limitless fairground experiences for all ages. If you're keen to brave the crowds, research the website for the best ticket package deals and plan your visit. Public transport is a good idea as buses and trains ferry people from all over the city to the show. Not cheap but it is the granddaddy of them all!
Where: Entertainment Quarter Showring, Moore Park
When: Saturday 24th of March - Monday 2nd of April, 2018
Why?: A serious alternative to the Royal Easter Show for many families because it's fun and it's FREE entry, with unlimited rides passes available for purchase.
Where: 31a Mallett St, Camperdown
When: Friday 30th of March - Sunday 1st of April, 2018
Why?: This event has something for everyone across three days:- a Food and Wine Day on Good Friday, Gingerbread Decorating and lamb-on-the-spit on Saturday, and Kids Easter Basket Craft and egg hunt, with the Easter Bunny, on Easter Sunday.

6. The Sydney Easter Parade and Family Day
Where: Hyde Park, St James Station side
When: Monday 2nd of April, 2018
Why?: After all the eggs have been given, this is a parade which celebrates the religious significance of Easter, and has been going strong for over 20 years. It's a ticketed, FREE event and it is visually spectacular with over 3,000 paraders, giant inflatables, animal costumes, marching band, stilt-walkers and other creative and colourful displays, all with Christian significance.
Where: Luna Park, 1 Olympic Dr, Milsons Point
When: Thursday 22nd of March - 30th of April, 2018
Why?: While daylight savings ends and it is still warm enough to spend the evening outdoors, why not treat the family to movies on the rooftop at Luna Park this Easter? The movies showing on the Easter weekend are listed below but don't put off booking as they are sure to sell out at this busy time. Tickets are from $18 to $29 with 0-2 years FREE.

8. Long Weekend Easter Egg Hunt at the Movies
Where: Event Cinemas
When: Friday 30th of April - Monday 2nd of April, 2018
Why?: Hunt for Easter eggs at the first sessions of the day (each day), for the animated movies: Peter Rabbit, Early Man & Sherlock Gnomes, this Easter long weekend. Book ahead at participating local cinemas, to avoid disappointment.
