Toddler Friendly Beaches in Sydney

Toddlers (3)      Beaches (1)
Sydney is famous for its beaches, but not all are suitable for the little people in our lives. So here's a list of our favourite beaches, where you can take toddlers for a splash and a day of sand castle building!

Balmoral Beach

This is a hugely popular beach, so our advice is to either arrive early in the morning or late in the evening, so that you can nab a car spot as well as decent patch of sand.

Brooklyn

This beach is only small, but perfectly formed for little ones. You can find it in McKell Park right near the playground - make sure you grab some fish and chips on the way for a picnic lunch!

Horderns Beach - Bundeena

Located almost at the end of Sydney, Bundeena is a beautiful spot to adventure on a day trip. You can either drive or catch a ferry over from Cronulla.

Clifton Gardens

This hidden gem has an awesome park, picnic facilities and of course the beach! The kiosk/cafe is a bit of a hike from the park/beach so you can't leave the kids unattended whilst you duck off to grab a coffee.

Clovelly Beach

An eastern suburbs favourite, this beach has it all. Park, playground, cafe, loads of sand and still water as well as a pool.

Greenwich Baths

These baths are gorgeous and perfect for little people, but you do have to pay an entrance fee. We recommend visiting mid week as quite often on weekend the place is packed with locals and bigger kids doing beach safety courses.

Nielsen Park Beach - Vaucluse

This gorgeous spot has a cafe smack bang next to it, so you can sip on your latte whilst your little ones dig away right in front of you.

Parsley Bay Reserve & Beach - Vaucluse

This secluded beach is perfect for toddlers. There's also picnic facilites, a lovely park and even a bushwalk, where you can see a waterfall and perhaps a water dragon or two.

When visiting the above beaches, we recommend that you arrive early to find a car spot close by, and also to avoid the heat of the middle of the day. Make sure you slip, slop and slap everyone in the family - sunscreen, hats and rashies! Take plenty of water and also snacks. And have a look at Surf Life Saving's Beach Safe website to check if the beach is patrolled or not, and also what the conditions are like!
